Adaquate TV for casual viewing if your not fussy. Sound is tinny, never could get the picture color correct. Stopped working after 1 year with very few hours and got no reply from manufacturer when I provided symptoms and asked what might be wrong. Replaced it with a mane brand set and difference was night and day. Better get it for a good price if you whan to fool with it.

I bought this for the exclusive purpose of dismantling it from its stand and making a little monitor I could use with a Mac Mini that I brought with me on vacation last year. I was pleasantly surprised to realize that not just the base is plastic space filler, but the majority of the surrounding as well. Perhaps being so much larger than the actual screen helps the speakers, which need space behind them to sound good, but I didn't use the audio feature of this TV at all, really. Seemed good, but I didn't listen enough to rate it.
Instead of as a TV, I used its SVGA plug - a truly awesome feature, Digital TVs shouldn't ever be sold without computer-compatible inputs. To give the electronics some structure other than the screen itself, I joined the two metal endplates of the screen's edge support with a sheet of polycarbonate from Home Depot that I had drilled holes in all the appropriate places, so I could reposition the button circuit board on the back of the unit, with the buttons slightly recessed.
I used SwitchResX to set up the 800x480 resolution; can't remember the exact settings but it was pretty easy to make the custom resolution, way way easier than it ever was in Linux.
End result: a full fledged computer that fit into a box smaller than any laptop does, with power supplies monitor, and even speakers for the beeps. Smaller box than even those new "minis" from Dell or HP can fit into! (laptop minis flat, but broad..) I think it was a Sony picture frame box, actually.
Still works and looks good too, even thru all that abuse. So if you are gonna use it regularly with a computer, and leave it in the case, I'm sure it'd last a long time.

I purchased product and then found out to my disappointment that it came from J & R and not Amazon. I only want to deal with Amazon, or I'd go to J & R site. I waited a month with no TV and then contacted merchant. Their response was "sorry, we don't have it in stock, we'll refund your money", which they haven't done yet.
Why did they charge my credit card if they didn't have TV in stock? Was it so they could earn interest for a month when they knew they would never deliver product? This is why I only want to deal with Amazon. Everybody else is irresponsible.

The tv I received is perfect right out of the box! All elements, i.e. video, audio, housing, are great to me. There are numerous one-button adjustments on the remote control (full-size, which I really like) for video and audio, along with adjustments in the set up menu. I am very happy with this Coby tv and highly recommend it for smaller rooms like a kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and den where the viewer is not too far a distance from the tv. If you're looking for a tv with a screen larger than 7" but smaller than 15", BUY THIS TV - IN MY OPINION, YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED.

I purchased this television for $149 dollars from Amazon.com and it broke in less than 9 months!! Amazon will only provide you with a 30 day warranty. The customer service that I received was absolutely terrible!! Do not waste your money, the television is cheap and won't even last a year, and Amazon will do absolutely nothing to help you.
